BusinessOnBot Alternatives: ZynfoAI, WATI, AiSensy

BusinessOnBot (BOB) is a WhatsApp marketing and support platform used mostly by Shopify D2C brands in India. Its website does not publish a price list and asks you to book a demo. Its Shopify app listing does show pricing: as of October 2026, a $4.99/month platform fee after a 7-day free trial, with WhatsApp broadcast and conversation charges billed on usage.

If you are looking for a BusinessOnBot alternative, the right one depends on what you want WhatsApp to do for you:

We make ZynfoAI, so read our part with that in mind. We’ve tried to be specific about where each tool, including BOB, is the better choice. For AI support tools beyond WhatsApp, see our guide to Intercom Fin alternatives.

What BusinessOnBot does well

BOB is built for the marketing side of a D2C store, and it covers a lot of ground in one app. According to its Shopify listing and its website, it includes:

  • Abandoned cart recovery and win-back flows on WhatsApp
  • Segmented broadcasts, drip campaigns and catalogs
  • An AI chatbot and live chat across WhatsApp, Instagram, email and web chat, in one inbox
  • Instagram comment and DM automation
  • Click-to-WhatsApp ads and upsell campaigns
  • Order, shipping and payment updates, with COD verification listed among its features
  • A loyalty widget, plus connections to Razorpay, Cashfree and Shiprocket

Reviews on the Shopify App Store are strong: 5.0 from 79 reviews at the time of writing, with many mentioning hands-on support from the BOB team.

If you need Instagram DMs, cart recovery and campaigns in one place, BOB is a reasonable choice and you may not need an alternative at all.

Why brands look for a BusinessOnBot alternative

The common reasons fall into four groups. None of them mean BOB is a bad product. They mean the fit has changed.

  1. Pricing you can plan around. The $4.99 platform fee is small, but the total depends on usage, and the website itself routes you to a demo. Some owners want a fixed monthly number before they commit.
  2. Support questions outgrow marketing flows. Once volume grows, the inbox fills with “Where’s my order?”, “Can I return this?” and “Does this come in XL?”. That is a support job, and some brands want a tool built around answering it.
  3. The website matters too. Many shoppers ask their question on the product page before they ever open WhatsApp.
  4. A different marketing tool. Some brands want a different WhatsApp campaign platform, a free entry plan, or a provider their agency already uses.

The first three point towards a support-first AI agent. The fourth points towards another marketing platform.

Option 1: ZynfoAI, if answering customers is the job

ZynfoAI is one AI agent that answers customers on your website chat widget and your WhatsApp AI chatbot, from the same training, with one inbox for your team.

What it handles for a store:

  • Order questions. With Shopify connected, it looks up an order, cancels it if it hasn’t shipped, checks refund status and takes return requests.
  • Product questions. It answers from your product pages and documents, recommends products, adds them to the cart from a product card, and can offer a discount code.
  • Policy questions. It answers from your website, PDFs, Word and Excel files and Google Drive, up to 500 sources, and shows the source for each answer.
  • The handoff. When a customer asks for a person, it writes a summary and routes the chat to your team by round-robin, least busy, or to everyone. Outside working hours it takes a message or opens a ticket.
  • Language. It replies in the language the customer writes in.

Pricing is one plan: $99 a month or $990 a year, with 5,000 conversations a month, 11 team seats and no per-resolution fees. Details are on our pricing page. WhatsApp’s own message charges from Meta still apply, as they do on every provider; Meta bills per delivered template message by category and country, per Meta’s WhatsApp pricing documentation.

What ZynfoAI does not do: broadcasts, abandoned cart campaigns, Instagram, email, or ads. If those are the reason you use BOB, ZynfoAI alone won’t replace it. More on how it works for stores in AI chatbot for ecommerce.

Option 2: WATI, if WhatsApp campaigns are the job

WATI is a WhatsApp-first platform with a shared inbox, broadcasts, automation triggers and Shopify campaigns. As of October 2026, WATI’s pricing page lists Growth at $29/month with 3 users, Pro at $99/month with 5 users, and Business at $399/month with 5 users, all on monthly billing, with lower annual prices. Each plan includes AI credits and at least one AI agent. Message charges are extra.

It suits brands that want a well-known WhatsApp marketing platform with room to grow into multiple numbers and Salesforce on the Business plan. We compare it in more detail in ZynfoAI vs WATI.

Option 3: AiSensy, if cost and ads are the job

AiSensy has a Free Forever plan for getting onto the WhatsApp Business API, and paid plans from ₹1,500/month (Basic, with broadcasting and 1 owner + 5 agents) as of October 2026, per AiSensy’s pricing page. It includes a Click-to-WhatsApp ads manager and Shopify and WooCommerce notifications. Its AI Chat Agent is an add-on at ₹1,350/month for 1,000 AI messages.

It suits small brands that want broadcasts and ads at a low entry price. See ZynfoAI vs AiSensy for the full comparison.

How to choose

Write down the last 50 WhatsApp messages your team handled and sort them into two piles: messages you sent (offers, reminders, cart nudges) and messages customers sent (questions, complaints, order checks).

  • Mostly messages you send: stay with BOB or move to WATI or AiSensy. A marketing platform is the right tool.
  • Mostly messages customers send: a support-first agent like ZynfoAI will save your team more time.
  • A real mix: many stores run a marketing tool for campaigns and an AI agent for questions. If you do this, decide which tool owns your WhatsApp number, and use the AI agent on your website chat for the rest.

When to stay with BusinessOnBot

  • Instagram DMs and comments are a big part of your customer conversations.
  • Cart recovery and win-back campaigns drive meaningful revenue for you.
  • You value BOB’s hands-on support and your costs are predictable enough.

Before you switch

Export your contact lists and any message templates you rely on. Ask BOB how to move your WhatsApp number to a new provider before you start. In ZynfoAI, you connect the number through Meta’s Embedded Signup, train the agent on your website and policies, connect Shopify, and try it with your own common questions before customers see it.
