Intercom Fin Alternatives (2026): ZynfoAI vs Fin and More
If your team already lives in Intercom, Fin is the obvious AI agent to try. It sits in the same inbox, reads the same help center and hands off to the same people. Most teams that search for an Intercom Fin alternative are not unhappy with the answers. They are unhappy with the shape of the bill, or they are not on Intercom at all and want something that fits the tools they already run.
This guide covers how Fin is priced, when it is the right choice, a detailed ZynfoAI vs Fin comparison, and five more alternatives with the trade-offs of each. ZynfoAI is our product, so weigh that section accordingly. Every price below was checked on the vendor’s own pricing page as of October 2026. Plans change, so follow the links before you decide.
Short version:
- Staying on Intercom with a big help center: keep Fin.
- Already on Zendesk: Zendesk’s own AI agents.
- Shopify store with a support team on a helpdesk: Gorgias.
- Small store or service business that wants AI on its website and WhatsApp for one flat price: ZynfoAI.
- Small team that wants low entry pricing and live chat: Tidio.
- Engineering team that wants to self-host: Chatwoot.
- Large enterprise with voice and a procurement process: Ada.
How Fin is priced
On Intercom’s pricing page, Fin AI Agent costs $0.99 per outcome. Intercom counts an outcome when a customer confirms the issue is resolved, when they don’t ask for more help after Fin responds, or when Fin completes a workflow (what Intercom calls a Procedure), including handoffs. You are charged once per conversation, however many questions it contains.
On top of outcomes, Intercom’s helpdesk is billed per seat. Billed annually, Essential is $29, Advanced is $85 and Expert is $132 per seat per month. All three include Fin.
You don’t have to move to Intercom to use Fin. According to Fin’s own pricing page, it plugs into other helpdesks such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshworks and Zoho at the same $0.99 per outcome, with a 50-outcome monthly minimum and no seat costs. Fin answers on chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS and voice. There is a 14-day free trial.
What that looks like on a real invoice
Take a hypothetical store where Fin closes 1,000 conversations a month and three people work the inbox on Essential:
- Outcome fees: 1,000 × $0.99 = $990
- Seats: 3 × $29 = $87
- Total: about $1,077 a month, before any add-ons
The model is fair in one sense: you pay when Fin does the work. The catch is that a better-trained agent closes more conversations and costs more. A busy sale weekend raises the bill. Budgeting means forecasting volume, not just headcount. We go deeper on this in our breakdown of flat-rate vs per-resolution chatbot pricing.
When Fin is the right choice
Fin is a strong product, and switching has a cost. Keep it if:
- Your team already handles support in Intercom and your help center is well maintained. Fin’s answers are only as good as that content, and you have it.
- You need channels beyond chat and WhatsApp, such as email and phone, handled by one agent.
- Your volume is modest, so per-outcome fees stay small next to seat costs.
- You use Salesforce or another large helpdesk and want an AI layer without migrating. Fin’s standalone option exists for exactly this.
If you want an AI agent that works inside Intercom’s own inbox, Fin is the native option. The alternatives below replace Intercom or Fin rather than plug into them.
ZynfoAI vs Intercom Fin
ZynfoAI is an AI agent for your website and WhatsApp, built for small businesses. It answers from your website pages, PDFs, documents and Google Drive, shows the source it used, and hands the chat to your team when a customer wants a person. Pricing is one plan: $99 a month or $990 a year, with 5,000 conversations a month, 11 team seats, one AI agent with support, sales, ecommerce and operations roles, and a 7-day trial. There are no per-resolution fees. Full details on the pricing page.
Using the hypothetical month above, 1,000 Fin outcomes plus three Essential seats is about $1,077. The same month on ZynfoAI is $99. At 100 outcomes a month the gap is much smaller, and Fin’s wider channel coverage may be worth it.
| Feature | Zynfo AI | Intercom Fin |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing (Oct 2026) | $99/month flat, 5,000 conversations | $0.99 per outcome + Intercom seats |
| Team seats | 11 included | From $29 per seat/month (annual) |
| Channels | Website chat, WhatsApp Business API | Chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, voice |
| Answers from | Website pages, PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, Google Drive | Help center and connected content |
| Works with other helpdesks | Freshdesk | Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshworks, Zoho and more |
| Free trial | 7 days | 14 days |
Where Fin is stronger
Be clear-eyed about this before you switch.
- More channels. Fin answers email, SMS and phone as well as chat and WhatsApp. ZynfoAI covers your website and WhatsApp only.
- A full helpdesk around it. Intercom brings ticketing, a help center, reporting and a large app ecosystem. If your team lives in that, Fin fits without new tools.
- Works on big helpdesks. Fin can sit on top of Salesforce, HubSpot and others. ZynfoAI doesn’t connect to Salesforce or Zendesk.
- Scale. Intercom is built for large support teams. ZynfoAI’s plan includes 11 seats.
Where ZynfoAI is stronger
A bill you can predict. Your cost doesn’t rise because the AI got better or because Black Friday was busy. For a small business, that is often the deciding factor.
Store actions out of the box. Connect Shopify and the agent can recommend products, answer “Where’s my order #1042?”, cancel an order, start a return request, add products to cart or share a discount code.
WhatsApp and website in one inbox. Customers who message your WhatsApp Business number and those who chat on your site land in the same team inbox, with private notes, transfers and a Customer 360 view.
Handoff that carries the story. When a customer asks for a person, ZynfoAI writes a summary and routes the chat to someone on your team within working hours. If nobody claims it, it goes back to the queue. Outside hours it becomes a ticket, or the AI keeps helping. More on how human handoff works.
Answers with sources. The agent learns from your website, PDFs, Word and Excel files and Google Drive, and shows the source it used. You can check any answer against the page it came from.
Switching from Fin to ZynfoAI
- Add your content. Point ZynfoAI at your public help center and website, then upload the PDFs and documents your team answers from. Connect Google Drive if your policies live there.
- Connect your store and CRM. Shopify for orders, and Freshsales if you capture leads.
- Test before you go live. Ask your ten most common questions and your three hardest. Read the sources it cites.
- Connect channels. Add the chat widget to your site and connect your WhatsApp Business number through Meta’s signup flow.
- Run both for a short while. Keep Fin on until your team is comfortable with ZynfoAI’s handoffs, then switch the widget.
When ZynfoAI is not the right fit
- Customers mainly reach you by email or phone.
- Your support runs in Zendesk or Salesforce and you aren’t moving.
- You need more than 11 seats, or regularly handle more than 5,000 conversations a month.
- You need certified compliance documentation for procurement.
If any of those apply, Fin or one of the tools below will serve you better.
Five more alternatives to Intercom Fin
1. Zendesk AI agents: best if you already run Zendesk
Zendesk’s pricing page says AI agents are included in every Suite and Support plan. Suite Team is $55 and Suite Professional is $115 per agent per month, paid yearly. Team includes 5 automated resolutions per agent per month and Professional includes 10. Beyond that, each automated resolution costs $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go. Copilot for human agents is $50 per agent per month.
What it does well: one vendor for ticketing, help center, AI and reporting. Mature tooling for large teams.
Watch out for: it is still outcome-based pricing, with a higher per-resolution rate than Fin once you pass the included amount. It is a helpdesk migration if you are not on Zendesk today.
2. Gorgias: best for Shopify stores with a support team
Gorgias is a helpdesk built for online stores. Its pricing page lists plans from Starter at $10 a month (50 tickets) to Advanced at $750 a month billed annually (5,000 tickets). The AI Agent costs $0.90 per interaction on annual plans or $1.00 on monthly plans, and each automated interaction also counts as a helpdesk ticket. It supports Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce.
What it does well: deep store context in every ticket, so agents and AI see orders next to the conversation. Built for ecommerce from day one.
Watch out for: two meters running at once, tickets and AI interactions. Good value for stores with real support volume; heavy for a small shop.
3. Tidio: best low-cost entry point for small teams
Tidio pairs live chat with its Lyro AI agent. On Tidio’s pricing page, Starter is listed at $24.17 a month on annual billing, with 100 billable conversations and 10 seats, and Growth starts at $49.17 a month. Lyro on its own starts at $32.50 a month for 50 Lyro conversations, with higher tiers refreshing monthly. There is a 7-day free trial.
What it does well: easy to install, friendly for non-technical owners, a free plan to start with.
Watch out for: live chat and AI are priced on separate conversation counts, so check how many Lyro conversations your traffic needs. Our ZynfoAI vs Tidio post walks through it.
4. Chatwoot: best if you want to self-host
Chatwoot is an open-source support inbox released under the MIT License, which you can run on your own servers. The hosted version on Chatwoot’s pricing page has a free Hacker plan for up to 2 agents, then Startups at $19, Business at $39 and Enterprise at $99 per agent per month. Its AI, Captain, runs on credits: 300, 500 or 800 a month depending on plan, with extra credits at $20 per 1,000.
What it does well: full control of your data and code, many channels in one inbox, no vendor lock-in.
Watch out for: self-hosting means you own uptime, upgrades and security. The AI is younger than Fin’s.
5. Ada: best for large enterprises with voice
Ada does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks you to book a demo, and the sales team schedules a call. It covers voice, messaging and email.
What it does well: built for very large support operations that need voice and a dedicated rollout team.
Watch out for: a sales-led process and enterprise contracts. Overkill for a small business. More in ZynfoAI vs Ada.

How to choose
Answer these four questions in order. Most teams have their answer by the third.
- Where does your support live today? If it is Intercom or Zendesk, start with the AI agent built into it. Moving helpdesks to save on AI fees rarely pays off for a large team.
- Which channels do customers use? If they email and call, you need Fin, Zendesk or Ada. If they chat on your website and message you on WhatsApp, a lighter tool will do. Our guide to WhatsApp AI chatbots covers that setup.
- Can you forecast volume? Per-outcome pricing works when you know roughly how many conversations the AI will close. If volume swings with sales and seasons, a flat price is easier to budget.
- Does the AI need to act, or just answer? Order lookups, cancellations and returns need a store integration. Check that the tool connects to your platform, not just your help center.
Whichever tool you trial, test it on your ten most common questions and your three hardest ones. Then read every handoff. That tells you more than any comparison table.
Common questions
Is Fin the same as Intercom? Fin is Intercom’s AI agent. Intercom is the wider helpdesk and messenger. You can use Fin inside Intercom, or on its own with another helpdesk.
What is the cheapest Intercom Fin alternative? For self-hosting, Chatwoot’s open-source edition has no licence fee, though you pay for servers and upkeep. Among hosted tools, Tidio and Gorgias have the lowest entry prices, while ZynfoAI’s single plan includes the AI agent, live chat and WhatsApp with no per-resolution fees.
Which Fin alternative is best for ecommerce? Gorgias for stores with a support team on a helpdesk. ZynfoAI for smaller stores that want AI on their website and WhatsApp with Shopify order lookups. See our AI chatbot for ecommerce guide.
