What this means

Marketing templates are most of your WhatsApp bill. Replies inside the 24-hour window cost the utility rate, so answering customers when they write costs less than a marketing template later.

Answer customers while the window is open

ZynfoAI answers WhatsApp from your own content on the official API. Pro covers up to 11 people at one flat price.

Meta charges per template message delivered, by category and by the recipient's country. Pick the country most of your customers are in, enter your monthly messages of each type, and add any provider fees to see a rough total.

How this tool helps

How Meta prices WhatsApp messages

Since July 1, 2025, Meta has charged per message on the WhatsApp Business Platform. You pay when a template message is delivered. Treat this calculator as an estimate.

The rate depends on the template category, the recipient's country calling code and, for utility and authentication templates, your monthly volume tier. Meta's pricing documentation has the current rate cards, so check them before you budget.

What you pay for since 1 October 2026

  • Marketing templates: promotions, launches and re-engagement. Charged per delivery, usually at the highest rate.
  • Utility templates: updates about something the customer did, such as an order or booking. Charged per delivery, including inside an open customer service window.
  • Authentication templates: one-time passcodes. Charged per delivery.
  • Replies to customers: when a customer messages you, a 24-hour customer service window opens. Each business number gets 1,000 free-form replies a month; after that they're charged at the utility rate, with no volume tiers. See what changed.
  • Chats from ads: a chat that starts from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad on the WhatsApp mobile app opens a free window of up to 7 days, if you reply within 24 hours.

You pay two bills

Meta's charges are one part of the cost. The other is the software you use to send and answer messages, which may charge a monthly fee, a per-seat fee or its own per-message fee. Compare the total cost of both.

The ZynfoAI Pro plan is a flat $99 a month or $990 a year for up to 11 people, with 5,000 AI replies a month across WhatsApp and website chat.

Try it free for 7 days with no card. Meta's WhatsApp charges are billed separately. See pricing.

Rates by country

See every message type in local currency, with two worked monthly bills, for India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the US and more countries.

Most support happens after a customer messages you, inside the 24-hour window, where replies cost the utility rate. Make that easy with a WhatsApp link or QR code, then answer quickly.

A WhatsApp AI chatbot answers those messages from your own content at any hour, so fewer conversations need a paid follow-up template later.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about using this tool and its output.

How is WhatsApp Business API pricing structured in 2026?

Meta charges per message, priced by message type and the recipient's country calling code. Since 1 October 2026 that includes free-form replies inside the 24-hour customer service window, charged at the utility rate.

What are the template categories?

Marketing (promotions, offers, re-engagement), utility (updates about an order, booking or account) and authentication (one-time passcodes). Marketing is usually the most expensive. Utility and authentication rates can drop with volume tiers.

Are customer service replies free?

Partly. Since 1 October 2026 each business number gets 1,000 free-form replies a month. After that, replies and utility templates inside the 24-hour window are charged at the utility rate, with no volume tiers. A chat that starts from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad opens a free window of up to 7 days.

Do rates depend on where my business is registered?

No. Meta charges by the country calling code of the person receiving the message. A UK business messaging a customer on a +91 number pays the India rate.

Are Meta's charges part of my chatbot or BSP plan?

Usually not. Meta's per-message charges are separate from what you pay a software provider, and some providers add their own fee per message. Check both before comparing tools. With ZynfoAI, Meta's charges are billed separately from the plan.

How do I keep WhatsApp costs down?

Let customers message you first. Your first 1,000 replies a month per number are free, and after that they cost the utility rate, far less than marketing templates in most countries. Chats from Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a free window of up to 7 days. Save marketing templates for updates customers want.
